Sailing background: I grew up sailing Blue Jays and I-420s on Long Island Sound in Connecticut. As a youth sailor I qualified several times to compete in the I-420 Class Worlds, and though I never did super well, I got to race in Hungary, Croatia, Japan, France, and Sweden(!). I raced on the Yale sailing team through my college years, then dabbled in the Olympic 470 class and the International Lightning Class. In my mid 30s I met my husband Bruce and he enticed me out to the west coast where we compete together in the J/105 class. It was around then I started learning the match racing game, and have mainly competed in California and US-based events since. I have done a few WIM Series events and now twice the Nations Cup.

Sailing background: Sailed dinghies, I wasn’t a star in the Optimist but still loved sailing. Better in the Europe dingy where I became Swedish national Champion and competed in several Nordic Championships and World Championships. Tried out other classes like Laser, 14 footer and 505. Crossed over to keel boats in the Express and J24 before starting with match racing. Topped the world ranking for four years after 2000, and I have won several World Championship and World Cup medals. Won the silver medal the last time Lysekil was the official World Championship in 2009.
